An editorial letter, also known as substantive and content edit, is a lot of work.
An editorial letter from me is a detailed letter addressing chapter-by-chapter, scene-by-scene issues with plot, tone, voice, characters, scene relevancy, scene organization, level of importance (like the inverted pyramid, but for romance novels), world-building development, plot holes, easy outs, too much convenience, head hopping, “telling” instead of “showing,” and other substantive issues that require heavy revisions in your manuscript. As the author, it is ultimately your choice to make these changes or not.
My editorial letters are approximately 2,000 words and the manuscripts will have comments (via Microsoft Word) in the margins.
This price also includes up to a sixty minute follow-up discussion.
